Heather Nordquist - Treasurer, Board Member

Heather grew up in the Pojoaque Valley north of Santa Fe. She graduated from University of New Mexico with a BS in computer science in 2004 and has been working at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a nuclear safeguards expert for over 15 years. From 2009 to 2014, she worked at the International Atomic Energy Agency developing remote monitoring systems used by IAEA inspectors.

Since her return to northern New Mexico in 2014, she has been an advocate for local residents on issues of water and land rights, co-founded and served as executive vice-president of Northern New Mexicans Protecting Land, Water and Rights, a 501C4 that helps residents navigate difficult land and water disputes.
She remains a vocal advocate for government transparency and accountability, protection of whistleblower protections, getting money out of politics and engaging more voters in the electoral process.
When she isn't doing science or being an activist, she can be found knitting or sewing.
