Rick Grenci

State Chair, Veterans Party of New Mexico

Rick moved to Silver City in 2005 where he is married with 2 children, one in college and the other in high school. Originally from NJ, he graduated from a trade school for Aircraft Maintenance at Teterboro School of Aeronautics in 1991 with an Airframe and Powerplant Certificate from the FAA. Over the next few years he would work as a laborer at various jobs in construction to include masonry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, paving, and general contracting. In 1997, Rick enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He spent almost 2 years aboard the 110’ USCG Cutter Manitou out of Miami Beach and 3 years at Air Station Miami. During his more than 5 years of service, Rick assisted in the rescue of 31 people, stopped hundreds of illegal immigrants from entering the United States, and seized thousands of pounds of cocaine throughout many areas of the Caribbean.

After the USCG, Rick moved to The Bronx and then back to NJ where he worked as an exterminator and then a truck driver until landing a job with the United States Border Patrol in 2005. Rick has worked both the southern and northern borders, has been an intelligence agent, and a supervisor.

In 2014 Rick started to help to establish the Veterans Party of America throughout the country. In 2015, he was made the first State Secretary for the Veterans Party of New Mexico and then in 2016, he became the State Chair. Throughout the process, Rick has seen firsthand the difficult road set in front of Independent and Minor Party Candidates and is eager to participate in leveling the playing field.
